Hunger Report - Hunger in America 2010 is the largest study of domestic hunger, providing comprehensive and statistically-valid data on our emergency food distribution system and the people Feeding America serves. Hunger in America 2010 is extremely detailed, drawing on data from more than 61,000 interviews with clients and surveys of 37,000 feeding agencies.

The report shows that hunger is increasing at an alarming rate in the United States, and our network is expanding its reach in response:

Identified by author and management expert Peter Drucker as "by far the most effective organization ... " The Salvation Army invests the charitable gifts it receives in the lives of men and women and boys and girls.

"No one even comes close to it in respect to clarity of mission, ability to innovate, measurable results, dedication and putting money to maximum use," Drucker said. (Forbes, August 11, 1997).

According to the Salvation Army's 2004 US annual report, approximately $0.83 of each dollar spent by The Salvation Army is used to fund direct services for people.
